The reality of being a woman in the world today has less to do with what we believe than with what we experience. Every day we meet challenges relating to self-image, sexuality, social perceptions and health – challenges that will accompany us throughout our lives even as we change and grow.
When women come together in a safe, non-judgemental space to share and honour each other’s experience, there’s a joyful sense of community and support.
Some of us come with trauma to heal. Some of us come with a curiosity about our bodies. Some come to share their stories. Some come to listen and learn.
The retreats can go deep. As we sit together to share our experiences, the compassion and empathy can be felt in waves around the circle. There will be tears of release, even rage as memories and feelings rise to the surface.
But there is also so much laughter and joy as we playfully explore the expression of our bodies through yoga and dance, breath and song. A good giggle can be as healing as a good cry.
You don’t need any particular experience to attend our women’s retreats. You don’t need to believe anything in particular. And it doesn’t matter if you’re old or young, businesswoman or barefoot nomad.
The richness of the retreat is in the diversity of the women taking part. All that you need to participate is an open mind, an open heart and a good sense of humour. 🙂
